Corporate Volunteer Day with Suez

Thank you to everyone who supported our open day on Saturday. We raised an amazing £1,222.15! It was so lovely to see you all and show you Hugs HQ. A special thank you to those that donated to the raffle including; Proper Cornish, Screech Owl Sanctuary, Cornwall FootballGolf, Bedruthan Hotel & Spa and RT Equestrian Services and all that made cakes for our refreshments, both were incredibly popular! Our next one is on Saturday 4th of December for a Christmas special so pop the date in your diary 🥰

The Hugs Youth Well-Being Project Impact Report Charity Year June 2021 – May 2022 has been released. Great work by the Hugs team (humans and animals included!), long may it continue! Have a read of the impact report here https://hugsfoundation.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Youth-Well-Being-Project-Impact-Report-June-2021-to-May-2022.pdf.pagespeed.ce.XpKEFVPWoI.pdf
We wanted to say a big thank you to one of our service users, Peter. Peter set himself the challenge of ‘Marching May’ walking as many footpaths around Cornwall as he could. He had aimed to raise £200 but has totally surpassed that raising over £500 for Hugs! It’s so inspiring seeing a young person take it upon themselves to raise money to make a difference to the lives of both animals and young people. Thank you Peter for your kindness, it is hugely appreciated here by the team and the rescues.
Our wonderful Youth Well-Being Manager, Hazel, has had some amazing feedback for her well-being support sessions. We thought we’d celebrate this lovely feedback with you too.
“My Son attended hugs and I have to say it was amazing. I saw my son grow and become more confident with each session he attended. Hazel the Youth Services Manager is such a wonderful person she was so good with my son and knew exactly how communicate with him and encourage him to carry out the activities. I thoroughly recommend Hugs Foundation, they are doing a fantastic job for well being for children, adults and the welfare of animals.Thank you Hugs.” From a service user’s parent
“My daughter Penny attended The Hug Foundations recently and she absolutely loved it there. Hazel the Youth Well-Being Manager was wonderful with her. Penny is non-verbal, visually impaired and unable to stand independently. Hazel adapted the sessions to suit Penny perfectly offering time with the various animals and sensory sessions too. Our sessions at Hugs were definitely the highlight of our week. Seeing Penny laughing, dancing and even making animal sounds to express her enjoyment was just incredible. Thank you to Hazel and everyone at Hugs for making this possible.” From Penny’s mum
